Dog Cra....... on your Lawn and Garden

We have now been in our new home in Upper Hutt for a year. (Today) We are on the main road and have no fences and we seem to be the local toilet for all the passing dogs. Really winds me up. Starting searching for a solution to this increasing challenge. I have been searching all the gardening sites to find out if anyone had any success in eliminating this issue.
One I stumbled across was to throw coffee grinds from the Expresso Machine around the areas that the dogs have been fouling.
Anything is worth a go, so I collected about 50 kg from work and spread it all around the section. And ...........
Three weeks later ....!!!! Nothing not one dog doo. I am still in the testing phase but the early indications are that this may work.
